THE CATERERS.TV NOTEBOOK

Buffet, plated or food stations?

Choose how your guests gather, not just what they eat.

Start with the event

A buffet lets guests make selections but needs room for queues and replenishment. Plated service brings a defined sequence to a seated event, with timing and staffing planned around the menu.

Agree the details

Stations add variety and movement, but each needs space, equipment and service capacity. Ask how the caterer would serve your guest count within the available time; avoid choosing a format on appearance alone.

Keep guest needs visible

Collect menu preferences and dietary requirements early. Confirm arrangements with the caterer rather than inferring them from a menu name or cuisine. Document the final agreed plan and who will coordinate on the day.
